Have ever heard about conjoined twins?Actually, it’s a very unusual phenomenon.Conjoined twins are identical twins who are joined in the womb. Most of the conjoined babies never survive even in the womb.And even if they survive in the womb, just after 24-hours coming to this world they would die.
So today we’re going to share a story of lucky conjoined twins who’ve been known to the world. Abby and Brittany Hensel have lived their lives intimately close to each other. Now they’re 27-years old, living their life as they want.
Meet Abby and Brittany
They both were born on March 7, 1990, in Minnesota, USA. Abigail Loraine “Abby” Hensel and Brittany Lee Hensel had separated heads but a conjoined body.
They have separate organs
The doctors told their parents that the girls won’t survive more than 24-hours.But look at them now healthy and happy.They have separate vital organs such as separate heart, stomach, spine, lungs, and spinal cord but their bodies are conjoined.
They control their own halves of the body.
They perform their tasks with their own half bodies.They have two arms and legs.
They first came on TV when they were 6
The Oprah Winfrey Show was the first show on which these girls made their first appearance. They were only six then.They immediately grab the attention from all over the world.
They grew up coordination with each other.
It wasn’t easy for them to coordinate with each other.They learned how to clap, how to crawl or how to walk by helping each other.They are happy today.
They don’t wish to be separated, in spite of being looked at.
They don’ t like when people see them as they are aliens. They hate it when people take their pictures without their consent.

Their parents don’t want them to get separated because it’s a huge risk. The doctors said there is a possibility that both would die.

A documentary was made on their life named as ‘Joined for Life’ in 2006. In this documentary, their adolescence, school, social life, and activities such as getting their driver’s licenses and many other things are discussed.
They starred in a reality TV series “Abby and Brittany”
Well, that documentary gained a huge success. After that, they agreed to let TLC into their home to film a documentary about their teenage years. And you won’t believe they got a TV show. The name of that TV show was “Abby and Brittany”.
The girls have separate Driving Licenses.
They get their driving license by giving the written and driving test individually.When driving, Abby controls everything on the right of the driver’s seat and Brittany on the left.
They can take over anything together.
They do everything like normal people.the girls are able to walk, run, swim, drive and ride a bicycle! They can even type on a computer. All they have to do is coordinate with each other.
Both are very different from each other.
Although they share the same body but their personality, their likes or dislikes are different from each other.For example, Abigail loves mathematics, while Brittany loves to write.
The girls graduated from Bethel University.
They graduated from Bethel University in 2012. Their major subject was Education.
They also hope to get married.
They also want a fairy tale romance for them. In an interview with Discovery Channel, they said they want to be loved, dated, to get married and have children.
Together in sickness, and in health.
They are completely different and separate people. If one gets sick, the other one stays healthy and well.
