It’s just the mid of November and I started smelling Christmas. Christmas is a festival of a joyous occasion. It is celebrated on 25th December all over the world. On this day they go to the Church and offer special prayer. Christians decorate their house, offices, street, and churches beautifully with colourful light. But when you’re done with Christmas decorations, prayers and dinner, what’s next to do?Here are some interesting ideas to celebrate Christmas with your family.Trust me you’ll forget everything next year about Christmas but quality time spend with your family is something that you’ll never forget.
1.Head to the park or beach
Christmas is all about happiness and having fun. Why don’t you just pack your stuff and head to the park or beach on this Christmas? An Aussie tradition is playing cricket on this day but you’re not a cricket person then you can play football or try a Frisby. Try to play team games so the bond of a family become stronger. Some of the team games are the tug of war, egg and spoon and three-legged. But it also depends on how many family members and the age of your kids as well.
2.Help the needy
A great thing to do for Christmas is sharing your happiness with others who can’t afford to celebrate this occasion. There are so many wonderful charities that are desperate for volunteers this time of year, and what a better way to appreciate the true meaning of Christmas than selflessly giving to others? You can do many things to serve people like serving food at a homeless shelter, visiting a retirement village, or giving presents at a children’s hospital.
3.Get out the board games
As Christmas comes in cold weather so if you want to stay inside your house then you can play indoor games. Pictionary, Monopoly and Uno are usually a hit, or if you don’t have any board games, try charades or secret celebrity or even a giant puzzle. And don’t forget about the cards and board games. You can have a quality family time.
4.Take a hike
Going out for hiking is also not a bad idea. It will be an adventure for the whole family. If the weather is normal pack up the whole gang and head to one of our many national parks. It will be fun exploring nature with family.People who live in the city can go to closest forest or mountain by train.
5.Put on a show
For your children entertainment or family fun, you guys together can reenact a scene from a movie or another fairy tale. But make sure everyone participate in it. Grandma, grandpa and also include your guest. Then, each Christmas you can add to the story – and will make great viewing entertainment for years to come!
Who doesn’t love art and craft? So its time to show your skills. Let’s use all the wrapping sheet leftovers, gift cards and Christmas cards before they get thrown away and make some cards for next year?Use your imagination and creativity to make something. All you need is some blank cardboard, glue, buttons, scissors, or anything you need to create your masterpiece.
7.Set some goals
We celebrate Christmas on December 25, means almost the end of the year. As New Year is also on its way so Encourage every member of the family to write a goal or what they hope to achieve in 2017.Then let’s see who’ll be able to achieve their goal until next year.
8.Plan a treasure hunt
Kids love treasure hunts! What you can do is hide the presents, draw up a map with directions and hints. It will be thrilling for kids. And whoever find a ‘secret’ map with buried treasure will be given an extra Christmas surprise!
You can together sit as a family and talk about beautiful past experiences. Like parents can tell their children how they met? Or what was their feeling when they hold you for the first time? You also can unearth the old photo albums, movies and slideshows and take the time to tell your children about their great-grandparents or cousins living overseas.
10.Do a photo booth
Made your own photo booth to capture some new memories. Hang a curtain on a wall, set up a camera and tripod and voila! You can also decorate the wall like you want.As it is Christmas I’ll suggest you put Christmas themed decor on the wall and one person can dress like Santa Clause. You also can make props like baubles, silly sunglasses etc. and you’ll have photos to treasure forever!
